From Krems and Stein we serve the whole Wachau valley, the Kremstal, the Kamptal, the southern bank of the Danube and the Wagram. This page shows the service area at a glance: 21 municipalities with a page of their own, 53 further villages, and every destination, route and topic page.

How the service area is laid out

The centre is Krems an der Donau with Stein. Our car stands there, at Bahnhofplatz next to the railway station — from there every direction is a similar distance away. Where a figure is given below, it is the approximate road distance to Krems, the same one shown on that place’s own page — Krems itself carries none.

Downstream lies the Wachau: Dürnstein, Weißenkirchen and Spitz on the northern bank, Mautern and Rossatz-Arnsdorf on the southern one. The old Stein–Mautern bridge is closed to cars; we reach the south bank by road, and that is everyday business for us.

To the north the land rises into the Kremstal and the Kamptal: Rohrendorf, Senftenberg, Stratzing, Lengenfeld, Langenlois and Hadersdorf am Kamp, and beyond them Droß and Gföhl in the Waldviertel.

East of Krems are Gedersdorf and Grafenegg; south of the Danube, Furth bei Göttweig and Paudorf at the edge of the Dunkelsteinerwald, plus Traismauer and Nußdorf ob der Traisen in the Traisental. We also drive up onto the Wagram — Grafenwörth, Engabrunn, Feuersbrunn, Fels am Wagram; those places are listed further down among the villages.
