Weingut Nigl in Senftenberg
Weingut Nigl sits on the Kirchenberg above Senftenberg, at the foot of the castle ruin and surrounded by the terraced vineyards of the Kremstal. The family estate is winery, restaurant and hotel in one: Martin Nigl runs the estate, his son Bertram Nigl the restaurant. The main house is the village’s historic harvest manor — first recorded in the 14th century, restored in the early 2000s and extended in 2023 by a hotel and spa building linked to it underground. The cellar is built above all on Grüner Veltliner and Riesling; the best known bottles are the Veltliner and the Riesling Privat from the Senftenberger Piri vineyard.
Up to the Kirchenberg
We collect you at home, at your hotel, at Krems railway station or at the river pier and drive you up to the estate. Senftenberg lies just behind Krems in the Kremstal and is part of our core area — a short ride that makes a big difference: you arrive without anyone having to stay sober for the way back.
Tasting without drawing lots
At a tasting nobody should end up deciding who drives. Arrange the return ride when you book — we are outside the house at the agreed time and bring everyone home safely. Whatever wine you take home rides along in the boot, right to your door.
