Joching is a village within the market town of Weißenkirchen in der Wachau, lying between Weißenkirchen itself and Wösendorf; until the end of 1971 it was a municipality in its own right. Since 2012 the estate has been run by Julia and Herwig Jamek, the fourth generation of the family, and since 1979 it has also farmed the vineyards of Melk Abbey. The restaurant at the same address serves classics made to recipes by Edeltraud Jamek alongside new takes on Austrian cooking.
Along the north bank to Joching, number 45
Pickup in Krems, at the railway station or at your Wachau accommodation. Joching lies on the same bank of the Danube as Krems, upstream beyond Dürnstein and Weißenkirchen — there is no Danube bridge on the way. We head for number 45, not the Weingästehaus Jamek at number 33.
Back from number 45
On the way back we collect you outside number 45 again. The time is best fixed when you order the ride; if it gets later, give us a call and we will arrange a new pickup time. You reserve your table directly with Jamek.
